Free Plush Heart Pattern (Happy Valentine’s Day!)

I Heart U/I Love You

Valentine’s Day is next Sunday, and of course I would love for every knitter to make my “I Heart U/I Love You” plush valentine for that special someone.

Free Plush Heart Pattern

But money is a bit tight for most people this year. So below is a plush heart pattern for FREE. When finished, it measures about 4” (10cm) x 4” (10cm). You can do so many things with this plush Valentine heart pattern! Here are some knit-knoodling ideas:

• Stitch a cute face on the heart for a child’s gift.

• Personalize the plush heart by stitching your loved one’s name across it.

• Sew a loop of ribbon into the top seam of the heart and stuff it with lavender to make a lovely sachet.

• Nestle a jingle bell deep inside the stuffing (and make sure you sew the seams super tight) to create a baby’s rattle.

• Stitch an “XOXO” across this sensuous red heart and prop it by your hubby’s coffee cup Valentine’s Day morning. Add his favorite home-cooked breakfast and he’ll fall in love with you all over again.

• For your girl friends, add lace trim around the edges, and stitch “BFF” or “Friends” across it.

I’d love to see what you end up doing with this plush heart pattern. Friend me at Ravelry (username KnitKnoodler) so I can see what you’ve done, or send a photo to TheKnitKnoodler@gmail.com. With your permission, I’ll show off some of your creations here on the site next week!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day,
Dani

Finishing:

Block both pieces to make it easier to sew together. Thread a tapestry needle with matching yarn. Place wrong sides together and use mattress stitch to join the two pieces. Stitch around the outside edge of the letter, pausing to weave loose yarn ends into your seams. Stuff with washable toy stuffing as you go.
